Dooney and Bourke – Best of Mickey Mouse Crossbody

Dooney and Bourke – Best of Mickey Mouse Crossbody

I’ve finally gotten round to sharing one of my favourite pieces of Disney merchandise that I own, my Disney Dooney and Bourke from Walt Disney World. I admired the bags online for the longest time before my visit to the parks. I loved the designs, but having never seen them in person, I was unsure they’d be worth the cost. I spent the first week of the holiday looking at them and thinking about whether to get one. I’m very indecisive, so even when I decided I definitely wanted one, I couldn’t pick which design. I eventually picked out the bag I wanted and almost a year later I am still so happy I did!

I bought the Best of Mickey Mouse design, in the crossbody style. It cost $198.00 dollars but with tax cost $210.87. Part of me still can’t believe I spent that much on a bag. Good job I love it!

The bags are available in various stores across Walt Disney World property. I found that the stores with the best stock included, Mouse Gear in Epcot and Disney Character Carnival at Disney’s Boardwallk. I decided to purchase mine from The Marketplace Co-Op - Cherry Tree Lane in Disney Springs. They had a massive range of the Dooney and Bourke bags as well as other Disney fashion.

Now for all the Best of Mickey Mouse Crossbody Bag details…

The bag is the same design on the front, back, base and sides. As the name suggests, the pattern is all Mickey Mouse related with some nods to Minnie Mouse. The icons are in a sketch style, in black, white, red and yellow. The pattern is Disney whilst still being wearable day-to-day. I can’t ever imagine growing out of the style as it is so classic.

The hardware is all gold. The top right and left corners on both the front and the back, are leather with stitching. The bag overall is amazing quality. I’ve used it since October 2018 and it has no visible signs of wear.

The front of the bag has two reasonably sized pockets. I tend not to use the pockets, purely because everything I ever need fits inside comfortably. Sometimes I’ll put the odd used receipt or train ticket in, but that is about it. The Dooney and Bourke logo is on the front which I personally really like the look of.

The bag is long enough to be worn across-body and I’ve found it really comfortable to wear. It isn’t the most comfortable to wear when it is heavy, but that happens with all bags in my experience. The strap is mainly black, with red around the edges and stitching. It has a buckle on both sides, both of which can be adjusted. The zip is of similar design to the strap. It is black, with red edges and visible stitching. The zip has two layers and is plated towards the top. It is the small details like stitching that really make this bag feel special and of good quality.

Inside the bag, there is a clip attached to the side. The back of the bag has the Dooney and Bourke logo at the top. Below the logo there is a large zipped pocket, with another pocket beneath which is slightly smaller. Both pockets are good sizes though as they both comfortably fit my iPhone 7 Plus horizontally. In the front of the bag, there are your typical two open pockets. One comfortably fits my iPhone, but only vertically. The other pocket is smaller and doesn’t fit the iPhone Plus.

Inside the main area of the bag, I can fit the following…

  • Large Disney X Cath Kidston Continental Wallet – Similar here
  • Small Insulted Medpac – big enough to hold two Emerade auto injector pens.
  • 500ml bottle of water

Also inside the main area, I have the following attached to the clip…

  • Small jelly case from Superdry for medication, about the size of a coin purse
  • Set of keys with Winnie the Pooh Tsum Tsum keyring

I keep the following inside the inside pockets…

  • Tissues
  • Hand Sanitiser
  • Lip Balm
  • A perfume roller – Blissful Mistful by Zoella

In the back inside pocket, I keep my iPhone 7 Plus. The case is from Bershka but is currently unavailable. They do have a great range of other Disney phone cases for a range of sizes.

The bag didn’t come with a dustbag which I was a little disappointed given the cost. I use my own dustbag when I’m not using the bag to protect it. I also keep the original tissue inside when I’m not using it so it keeps the shape.

Hope my review has helped if you are thinking of getting a Dooney and Bourke bag on your next Disney trip. I can highly recommend the bags and I will be making another purchase on my next trip if the funds allow!

Please leave any questions below and I will try my best to help 🙂
