The countdown until my next Walt Disney World trip has now reached double digits which is very exciting! There is nowhere I would rather be than in Walt Disney World and I am sure anyone who has been before will understand why. I feel like I am definitely in Disney World countdown mode now so I thought I would look through some photographs from my last trip in 2014. I didn’t realise how many photographs I had that I would want to share so I am going to do a few blog posts about the my last trip to the happiest place on earth.
I honestly can’t wait to head back to the place where dreams come true again. Every trip I seem to be more excited to go back if that is even possible, less than 100 days now! I am planning on blogging a lot about the trip and I’ll definitely be posting plenty of photographs on Instagram at the time. If you would like me to write about anything in particular in relation to Walt Disney World then be sure to let me know and I will be sure to add any suggestions to my list.
I have definitely grown-up with Disney and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. It is such a special place to me and it definitely feels like home. I have been lucky enough to visit Walt Disney World 5 times so far. The trip this year will be my 10th visit to a Disney Park which I am slightly excited about! Definitely heading to City Hall for an ‘I’m Celebrating’ badge 😉 I visited WDW four years in a row from 2007 to 2010 but my last visit was in 2014. I definitely have the most photos from my 2014 trip due to discovering my love of photography so I thought why not share them.
We stayed at Hilton Buena Vista Palace during our last trip which was our first time staying off-site as we couldn’t book a Disney Hotel for over the New Year. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Riverside and Bay Lake Tower Hotel on previous trips and loved all the hotels. I can’t say that we particularly enjoy staying at Hilton Buena Vista Palace. There wasn’t anything in particular that was wrong with the hotel, but it just wasn’t the same as staying in a Disney Resort in my opinion. The location was almost like staying in a Disney Hotel as it is literally just over the road from Disney Springs, Downtown Disney at the time. The transport into the park from the hotel was very poor. The buses felt like they took forever to come and it just wasn’t the same as getting the Disney bus to the parks. We walked over to Downtown Disney and used the buses from there. I personally wouldn’t stay off-site again unless I really had to, we definitely missed the extra magic of staying in a Disney resort.
Those who are going for constant heat and sunshine, Christmas might not be the most ideal time to visit but I personally love Walt Disney World during the Christmas season. I can deal with the slightly cooler mornings as, when compared to what the weather would be like in December (or even most of the so-called Summer) in the UK, it isn’t exactly ‘cold’ and it is more than worth it to be there at Christmas. Disney is a magical place on its own, but visiting during the Christmas season seems to adds even more magic. On our next visit we are staying over Halloween (which I am so excited for!) but I definitely want to go again during Christmas in the future.
The Christmas parade was one of the highlights for me during my last trip. The parade in general is always a highlight of a Disney trip for me and I’m sure it is for most people. I love the photographs I took during the parade on our last trip.
You can actually walk directly from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT which takes you past the Swan and Dolphin Hotel and then to the Beach and Yacht Club Resort and Boardwalk. It is a lovely walk but there are also boats which stop in each location. During the trip we spent a lot of time around the Beach and Yacht Club Resort and the Boardwalk. A lot of people haven’t even discovered the Boardwalk area which does really surprise me as it is such a lovely area of Walt Disney World.
Hope you enjoyed the first instalment of my photographs from my 2014 Walt Disney World trip. I will be posting some more photographs next week!
