Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are soon to be celebrating their 90th anniversary! With not long until November 18th, a lot of brands have been joining the craze and creating merchandise to celebrate the anniversary. Mickey Mouse has been getting a lot of attention particularly. I am loving that their anniversary is encouraging lots of different brands to create Disney merchandise. I’ve seen so many amazing pieces over the last few weeks and months, so I thought I would put together a post of my favourite stores and their 90th Anniversary merchandise. Be sure to let me know in the comments if you have seen anything that you particularly love that I might not have seen!
Shop Disney UK
As expected, Shop Disney UK have gone all out this year to celebrate Mickey’s anniversary. The main pieces of merchandise are the Mickey Mouse Memories which have been released throughout the year on the 18th of each month. Most Disney fans have been following the release of the plush, pin set and mug each month. I bought the full set in January (review here!) and since then, I’ve been buying the pin set each month. I would have loved to have collect everything but it is a little unrealistic money and space wise.
In October they will be releasing two special anniversary Mickey Mouse plushes alongside the usual Mickey Mouse Memories collection. They are full gold Mickey’s both apparently being released on October 18th. I’ve included a screenshot of the Shop Disney UK announcement of the plushes from Facebook. I can imagine that the Shop Disney UK website will go crazy on October 18th if all these limited plushes are being released together! I genuinely wish good luck to anyone purchasing that day, I hope everyone manages to get what they want without too much stress!
Whilst they’ve released amazing merchandise for Mickey Mouse, there seems to be a lack of love for Minnie Mouse. I wish they’d have released some merchandise for her 90th birthday as well.
I’ve been meaning to make an order from Couture Kingdom for a long time now. They have some beautiful looking pieces, including their new Mickey 90th Anniversary Collection.
There are a few pieces that I particularly love including this Disney Mickey Mouse 90 Years White Gold-Plated Medallion Necklace for £32.00. I’m not as in love with the front ‘M’ design but the other side is perfect. The design has a beautiful subtle Disney look that I would happily wear every day. It has a shorter chain so would be perfect for layering as well.
A more expensive necklace from the range is this Disney Mickey Mouse 90 Years White Gold-Plated M for Mickey Necklace which is priced at £69.00. It is has a long chain and I Iike that the design is simple and classic but Mickey still looks fun and cheeky! I can imagine this one being very popular despite being on the more expensive side.
One last necklace is the Disney Mickey Mouse 90 Years White Gold-Plated Clear Crystal Ears Hat Necklace for £49.00. It comes in a few different colours including both red and black. The necklace would be a perfect one for those who love the Disney Parks as it is modelled from the Ears Hats you can purchase. Who doesn’t want a daily reminder of Mickey Ears?
Disney Mickey Mouse 90 Years White Gold-Plated Black Stud Earrings are a classic piece of Disney jewellery. I don’t think that you can really go wrong with studs like these. They do them in a range of colour combinations for £25.00 each. I definitely think these are missing from my collection!
I really love the new Disney Mickey Mouse 90 Years White Gold-Plated Bangle. It is different to anything I’ve seen and would definitely be a talking point. It does seem a little pricey at £49.99 but for something so unique it is to be expected. I definitely fall more in love the more I look at it!
I don’t really shop on Boohoo generally but they’ve released a few great Disney pieces recently. I particularly like the Disney Mickey M Print Slogan T-Shirt which is only £10.00. Mickey looks adorable and I imagine it would be a easy and comfortable piece to wear especially for a day in the parks.
I’m a little bit in love with the Disney Mickey Signature Sleeve Print Hoodie from the mens section. It is £28.00 which I think is quite reasonable for a hoodie. I love the design so much and as it is a mens fit, I can imagine it would be super comfy! Definitely one of my favourite pieces I’ve seen in a while.
Lastly from Boohoo is a very simple Disney Mickey Signature T-Shirt for £10.00. There are a few sizes/colours out of stock in this one but I know I would wear this a lot day to day and whilst visiting the Disney Parks. It would pretty much go with everything as it has a very simple yet classic design.
The Forever 21 collaboration with Mickey Mouse was released in the US and in stores a bit ago, so I’ve been waiting to see them appear on the UK site. The collection only came out last weekend and is already selling out. They have included a range of both mens and womens clothing. I’ve picked out a few of my favourite pieces, but you’ll have to be quick if you want a particular size. I apologise if anything has already sold out! It is worth noting there are a few discount codes available including £5 off your first order over £21.
There are a few different tees available but my favourtie from the womens is this yellow Mickey Mouse Graphic Tee for £17.00. I really love the Striped Mickey Mouse Jumper for £30.00. Anything that combines jumpers, Disney and stripes is a winner for me. I love the retro Mickey on this Mickey Mouse Checkered Cardigan. It is one of the more expensive pieces at £40 but it is certainly a statement piece. I think the Mickey Mouse Patch Shirt is one of the best pieces from the collection, I love that it includes all the Disney characters! It is the perfect amount of Disney for everyday wear and is only £22.00. It is unfortunately sold out now but I hope it comes back into stock! The last pick from the collection is part of the Mens wear. It is a Striped Mickey Mouse Tee for £18.00. I love the simple, retro design.
I hadn’t heard of the company Posh Paws until they recently released plushes of the characters from Disney’s Christopher Robin. Since then I feel like I have heard so much about them and their amazing plushes! They have a lot of different collections, most recently I’ve seen Disney fans share the Posh Paws Disney 10″ Mickey Soft Toy. £14.32 and Posh Paws Disney 10″ Minnie Mouse Soft Toy, £14.99. They both look like such amazing plush designs and I particularly love the effort Posh Paws put into their packaging.
The Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Official 2019 Calendar is a perfect Christmas gift for a Mickey fan at only £10.00. I personally really love the retro design and colours of this calendar. The calendar also comes with a collector’s poster which makes £10.00 a bargain.
Saving my favourite until last. I’ve already got a few Disney editions of Life Magazine and I’d love to add ‘Mickey Mouse at 90‘ to my little collection. They are beautiful made magazines that are more like a book if you ask me. They are a little expensive for a ‘magazine’ at £9.99, but personally I think they are worth the money.
Pop In A Box UK
Pop Vinyl Figures are still quite a recent love for me. They always look so cute and irresistible. Pop In A Box have so many different Pop Funko Vinyl Figures, I found it quite overwhelming the amount they have! They currently have an offer of 2 for £18.99 which is a good saving and it wouldn’t be hard to pick at least two! From the Mickey 90th Anniversary collection I particularly like Disney Mickey’s 90th Apprentice Mickey Pop! Vinyl Figure for £9.99 and the Disney Mickey’s 90th Conductor Mickey Pop! Vinyl Figure also £9.99. If you can’t pick just one you can buy the full Disney Mickey’s 90th Pop! Vinyl – Pop! Collection for £47.95.
Hope you’ve enjoyed my round up of the merchandise released to celebrate Mickey Mouse turning 90 this November! I could go on forever with the amount that has been released over the last few months. There are some amazing pieces and definitely a few purchases to be made. Let me know what has been your favourite release so far!
